Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire

Red Rock Canyon © D. Becze

Breathtaking views and spectacular scenery is the only way to describe this day tour. Red Rock Canyon and Valley of Fire are two of Southern Nevada’s most beautiful sights, and this day ride is the perfect way to see them.

Travel through breathtaking Red Rock Canyon, a 197,000 acre conservation area of beautiful sandstone formations. It is rich with wildlife including big horn sheep, wild burros, and bobcats but the scenery is what you’ll remember. Called “the Red Rock Loop” by locals, this is a part of Vegas that is a must see.

Thirteen Mile Loop Drive offers miles of pure twisting roads, with several overlooks showcasing the beauty of the Park. It has exceptional views of the layers of red sandstone and grey limestone thrusting from the rock in spectacular displays.

Continue on to the Valley of Fire, Nevada’s oldest and largest state park, located in the Mohave Desert.

Ancient sand dunes, altered over centuries by nature and the elements, form the blazing red sandstone seen throughout the park. They make for a spectacular backdrop to some of the park’s other treasures.

In the 1930’s the Civilian Conservation Corps built sandstone cabins to give travelers shelter from the elements. Today these cabins are accessible to those interested in seeing something out of the ordinary. The cabins are quite amazing and worth the stop.

You’ll also see petrified logs left behind from ancient forests, washed into the area long ago. In an area called Mouse Tank, named for a renegade Indian using the area for a hideout in the 1890’s, you will find a display of amazing petroglyphs carved by ancient Native Americans. Elephant Rock is another excellent sight, as are the Seven Sisters, and the Beehives, all locating inside the Valley of Fire.

This tour is a serene, beautiful, and amazing ride.
